Backpacks for Hurricane Katrina Victims

Hopeconnections worked with the leadership class at James Logan
High to develop a plan to fill backpacks for children displaced
by the hurricanne. East Baton Rouge Parish School system nearly
doubled its enrollment after Katrina. They were in desperate need
of school supplies for the children. The students and teachers
at James Logan went into action and filled over 1000 backpacks
and 1200 teacher totes. The items were shipped on October 10, 2005
to Baton Rouge.
